Thank you for sharing this with me Kelly Eide. Magnificent! Joan Halifax is the modern embodiment of Quan Yin. My favorite insight from the talk: Any attachment to an outcome distorts deeply our own capacity to be fully present to the whole catastrophe. Thinking of the people working in the child welfare system, prison system, working in war zones around the world including Israeli-Palestinian conflict.... It takes a strong back and a soft front. It takes tremendous strength of the back to hold your self in the midst of conditions. That is the mental quality of equanimity. But it also takes a soft front. The capacity to really be open to the world as it is; to have an undefended heart. Joan Halifax
