Thank you for those who have expressed concern and have been sending prayers for Tiger Cub Eli. This afternoon, his Cub Scout leader Jack Norris shared that Eli is back in Lexington, SC recovering from his recent brain surgery in the comforts of home. Jack also writes, Without the pressure on his brain that was being caused by the mass, he has lit up brilliantly and is talking like never before! His return home and resulting vigor are our second and third blessings. The challenging news is that the biopsy on the mass removed from his head did test positive for cancer. The surgery removed as much as the doctors could get, but the form of cancer he has been diagnosed with is a very aggressive form and will require that Eli begin treatments in a Pediatric facility within the month. His family is now seeking input and information on the pediatric cancer centers which specialize in his form of cancer in (3) specific locations: Duke, Boston, and Philadelphia. With this in mind, the response form our Pack should be an ongoing mission and not simply a one time gift. We will be deciding the specifics today and sharing those ideas with the Pack tomorrow. Eli will likely take some time before his return to school and scouting. His family will soon be open to receiving visitors who want to see Eli. I will share the contact information for the family soon.
