Thank you sir, commander in chief for a plan to designate the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to Wilderness! As the first people here for 30,000 years this area is upmost sacred to the Alaska Natives (Gwichin Athabascan Indians) Eskimo tribe from Kaktovik area and all Native Americans the same. The porcupine caribou herd, the biggest caribou in north America has the same possible repercussion as the great buffalo herd of the 1800s- which once roamed north America and for greed just like todays profits and less food for the Native American Indians the great herd was wiped out by the US Government! The porcupine caribou herd is food on the table for the Athabascan Gwichin Indian tribes, Canadian Gwichin Indians, Alaska Natives and Native veterans, who many resides near the historic migration route. The fact is because of the mighty porcupine caribou herd, the Gwichin Indian tribes survived for thousands of years, including the last Great depression of this country and any other economic struggles we may face in the future. Thank you MR President Obama! I believe keeping Alaska the Last Frontier should be the goal for America and rather look at tourist business, which actually brought in about (6) billion dollars last summer alone and if the Alaska villages and the state work together, I believe our economy will flourish, instead of destructions of our lands, food and way of life. history1900s.about/od/1930s/p/greatdepression.htm
