Thank you so much brother Bello Isiaka for sharing this news with us. Let me start my comment by stating that I have nothing aganist the appointment of the Managing Director of Zenith Bank, Mr Godwin Emefiele,or any other suitably qualified and competent person with cognate experience to replace Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as Governor of the Central Bank of Nogeria. However, not now that he has few days to complete his term and tenure of office. But if he must be removed before the completion of his term, due process must be followed. While I do not regard SLS as a saint, I do not think he must be considered satanic now, based on the startling revelation he has just made as regards the evaporation of $20 billion from the NNPC Account Giving financial recklessness and misconduct as one of the reasons for suspending SLS few months the end of his contract, where was the President, when the Governor of Central bank turned Father Christmas donating money to various States of the North including his own Kano State? . Where was he (the President) when SLS was displaying power and arrogance particularly at the time he turned to unapologetic agent of the World Bank and The IMF implementing their policies and acting their scripts. ? There is no doubt that Sanusi attempted , by his pronouncements to entrap Nigerias economy at our detriment and to the desires of the European countries. At that time, the President seem to lose focus, or shall we say, he failed to show discernment for the people of the country. He followed the Central Bank and Coordinating Minister and Minister of Finances road-map plunging the country into further inflation, by the devaluation of the Naira, which led to further impoverishment of the people. All those times Sanusi was not getting only the nod, but the carrot from the power that be However now that he has made a full turn-around to the people by exposing corruption in the system and telling Nigerians that; * the NNPC Account is dysfunctional and shrouded in secrecy as a conduit pipe for siphoning our money for stashing in far away foreign accounts * the GMD of NNPC is a sacred cow that cannot be touched for for whatever inaccuracy in the stewardship of his account * and that the Kerosine Subsidy account is frosted in willful deceit the oligarch heading the plutocratic regime has decided to give him the cane and the boot at the same time. What a paradox! The legislator who sided with the President saying that Mr President could suspend the Governor before the expiration of his term has shown that he is a complete illiterate and does not know anything about the civil service procedure, the due process of the law and tenets of the natural justice. He is unfit tobe a legislator and need to go for tutorial in law making First of all that SLS is a public servant is all the more reason why the civil service code that he can only be seen and not heard should have been invoked long time ago. . Now that his cup is considered to have been over filled, he must be dealt with in accordance with his condition of service, the civil service rules and even rules of natural justice In this regard, he must be given query detailing the specific offence alleged to have been committed. Also he must be given the opportunity to reply and be heard to defend himself . At the end of the day, the Senate that confirmed his appointment must also confirm his removal. Before reaching that stage the fulfillment of the rule of natural justice must be put in place. By this is meant -(NEMO JUDEX IN CAUSA SUA)-The Presidency cannot be a judge in his own cause , and (AUDI ALTREM PARTEM)-Aso Rock must hear from the other side. It should be borne in mind that the CBN Governor is not a ministerial nominee that enjoys tenure at the wish of the President. Also if the due process is meant by conduct of formal/legal proceeding strictly according to established principle and rule laid down to guarantee fairness, the suspension of SLS and commencement of action to fill his post has not followed that process. If the post is filled and he is not found guilty, where does he return to.? At that very senior level, he is deemed to be a sacred cow that cannot be slaughtered any how, This is where Mr Nanga-Igbokwe is totally wrong and this is why the removal of SLS should not have been politicized Nigeria we hail thee !!!
