Thank you so much everyone who came out to my junior recital and all of you who were so supportive. It meant so much to me. That recital tested me to the utmost, I had to push myself beyond my original limits to be able to play parts in some of those pieces, but in the end, after the weeks I slaved over that music, it improved my musical potential greatly. It made me view playing my instrument through a new light. You dont push yourself by staying in your comfort zone, you must reach beyond it. Work until you can play what you currently think is unobtainable. Only when you truly do strive for the highest, can you find the limitless possibilities that await you as a musician. Not to mention the rush of performing some of the toughest music youve ever taken on in front of your friends and colleagues. It felt just as incredible tonight as when Ive been up on stage in front of huge cheering crowds at jazz and rock shows. For my fellow Amarillo gigging musicians I play with, and specifically my bandmates, I hope to bring so much more to the table now as I continually work to extend my limits. Great times are ahead! My senior recital is still down the road! But for now, time to celebrate!
