Thank you so much to our family and friends who have called, - TopicsExpress

Thank you so much to our family and friends who have called, texted, voxered, and snapchatted us throughout our day to keep our spirits lifted, we greatly appreciate all the thoughts and prayers! It made Haylees day to know you were all thinking of her as she went through her procedures today. I thought it would be easier to let you all know this way, instead of individually messaging you all. I have contacted family and thought a mass message would be best since there were so many of you! Haylee had a renal ultrasound done today to check her kidneys after our long battle with an ecoli infection which turned into a staph infection in her kidneys and bladder. After her ultrasound, she braved a VCUG, for those of you that dont know what this is, it was quite the process to watch my little missy go through today, they cath her(ouch, and it was a very hard process, it took 3 attempts and 8 people to hold her down) and then fill her full of fluids and take pictures to see if she has reflux from her bladder to her kidneys. We found she can hold quit a lot of fluid before even having the urge to go to the bathroom. After a very painful hour or so of this, we got to relax for an hour before we heard what the outcome was to be. Some of you know what they were expecting, and they thought there was going to be damage to her kidneys from the infections and that we would possibly have to have a surgery on her ureters which we thought was causing reflux into her kidneys and then creating all her infections she has been dealing with. We received good news, that her kidneys look great!! The infection is gone! And that she is experiencing no reflux from bladder to kidney!! What we did find was the issue is her bladder is never completely emptying. Which means she is holding urine, and there for creating a bacteria and causing the infection which then spreads. The awesome part about all of this, is there is one procedure which will help the whole process and help eliminate the infections and any embarrassing bed wetting issues she experiences. It will take care of it all! So over the next month she will be taking a low dose of antibiotic at bed time to hopefully help keep infections away until we go to see her specialist on Jan. 5th and schedule her surgery to dilate her urethra, which will help her bladder to completely empty. (Thank goodness for the greens to help her good bacteria, while taking these antibiotics) Although she has to have surgery still, we are confident she has the best team of doctors and nurses working together as well as an amazing support system and we will soon be done with all of this and it will be a thing of the past!! We will keep you updated as to when her surgery is and will look forward to you guys making our day like you did today! We truly are blessed with a great circle of friends and family!!
