Thank you to Arietta for taking so much time - to research and then to write about your reflections (Reporter-Herald Letter to Editors) Irene Fortune answered all needed questions To the editor: Interested in our city, I took a little time to go to an Irene Fortune “Meet the Candidate Coffee.” Irene is a candidate for the City Council seat in my ward, Ward 1. In this meeting, I was struck by Irene’s thoughtful responses to probing questions. She didn’t hesitate to ask clarifying questions and note resources that might be helpful. She was straightforward about pursuing solutions to prominent community issues. Her quiet manner and clear commitment to full, rational discussion are a relief. Irene is concerned about the real issues in our community. It is reassuring that this City Council candidate brings calm, purposeful and proactive approaches. Intrigued at the first brief coffee, I went to the candidate forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters held in Loveland’s City Council Chamber. Upon hearing Irene a second time, I learned more about her experience and skills. Management of diverse, large teams throughout her career combined with her commitment to inclusive communication continues to build my respect. To discover an intelligent, compassionate and proactive candidate is exciting. Irene initiates, listens, thinks, makes a decision. I now plan to vote for Irene Fortune and hope you will join me.
