Thank you to CCHI and California Cannabis Coalition. The movement to release Californias prisoners of the drug war, grow commercial hemp and end the war on pot in California is finally funded. I have witnessed the funding of many a ballot initiative over my years of activism. I know when a handshake and a face-to-face agreement is a history-making moment. I always feel privileged to witness these moments and know when a mans word and handshake is as good as written in stone. So Im going to do something that I have done many times on local ballot measures, but never personally done before on a statewide. Im going to stick my neck out there and say, yes, its funded. They have agree to move forward so its time to start filing the papers and get to work. This is it. Its actually happening. Weve come to far to forget who we are, so lets raise the bar and our cups to the stars. Its time to reach out to the other members of our wider legalization community, even those we dont see eye-to-eye with and open a true dialog. Its time to work together, or at least figure out how not to step on each others toes as we move forward to pave the road and show the rest of the country that, yes, we can get our shit together when we get down to what really matters.
