Thank you to all the teachers who were my mentors in those early years of teaching. Most of them are gone now but I will always be thankful for the support they gave me as I spread my wings as an elementary teacher. I appreciated their wisdom as veteran teachers. Thank you to my colleagues over my 34 years in the classroom. We shared so much beyond lesson plans and behavioral strategies. We shared family weddings, had babies together, mourned the loss of children, grandchildren, spouses, colleagues and sadly students. We were there for each other. Teachers appreciate so very much a simple note or call to let them know they are appreciated. Todays teachers have a tough job. Wishing all current teachers a fresh start and a renewed spirit as you begin your new school year. To the kindergarten yet known to me, I am sending to you Jonas, my first grandchild. He is a sensitive little guy who will be so eager to please you. I thank you in advance for shaping his little soul without breaking his spirit.
