Thank you to all those intrepid (and now somewhat sodden) souls who supported the scarecrow competition and Rossmoyne Rummage by putting up a scarecrow, holding a stall or braving the weather to purchase a bargain! New scarecrow residents were still arriving in the dark of Saturday night, and rumour has it that, even though the competition has officially closed, more are still to come. From a long list of honourable mentions the following final winners emerged: Bulleen Arts and Garden Prize (for sturdiest construction) The Giant at No. 336 Darebin Council award (for most suited to its setting) Ross Crowbegone at No. 142 Manufactory Prize (for sheer artistry) - the Witches at 115, which also took out the Posties Pick Prize, and will be featured on a sheet of personalised stamps. The rain has been good news for the Community Garden Planter boxes, but they could do with a bit more warmth and sunshine now. Check them out as you wander by. The next Official street event is the Carol Singing on Friday evening 6th December. Come one, come all, bring your instruments, your voices, sleigh bells and your best Christmas cheer. Further details to follow. Have you subscribed to the Rossmoyne Round-Up yet? Email rossmoynestreet.thornbury@gmail to receive the latest info every 2 months.
