Thank you to all who responded to Janus walkabout this morning by sharing my post. Ive been reflecting a lot on what went wrong but I realized what had gone right and ultimately helped us get him home: 1) I had current pictures saved on my phone for this exact moment, showing him clearly in multiple views. 2) I posted his info and details on facebook (local swap site and then here) as soon as my initial search of the neighborhood showed he was missing. 3) He was wearing his collar with our info on his tags (one boomerang tag & the other a dangle tag) 4) He is microchipped & I just recently had them searched for when updating shots to ensure they were still findable and the info was updated. Of course I live in an amazing community that made all the difference. Ill be checking our gate morning and night to ensure it wasnt left open again!
