Thank you to all who turned out for our first driving clinic. Special thanks to Thereisa Ross (our vehicle maintenance engineer), Sarah Fraser (Farrier) and Jacqui Platt (veterinary nurse) for the very informative programs they set for our members. Starting with Thereisas talk on annual and general maintenance of driving vehicles, then moving on to Sarahs talk on equine foot care and demonstrating the different types of shoes available for driving horses/ponies and advice on driving barefoot. Followed by Jacquis talk on basic equine first aid, ranging from taking pulse & temperature readings, to, how administer different types of dressings to situations you may come across at any time with your horse/pony. (but we hope never to have put it to practice).
