Thank you to everybody who came out and voted yesterday. Overall, the Dulles District had 37% turnout (unfortunately, the 2nd lowest of the 8 districts in Loudoun and below the County average of 40%). The Little River precinct led the way with 44% turnout. In terms of Dulles specific election results, for US Senate, Mark Warner led Ed Gillespie 5217-4878, while for Congress Barbara Comstock led John Foust 5496-4494. In Loudoun County as a whole, Gillespie defeated Warner 45483-45027, while Comstock defeated Foust 46778-36926. As Im sure youve seen, the Senate race ended up a nail biter statewide, with Senator Warner currently leading by about 12,000 votes, pending a canvass and possible recount. Delegate Comstock defeated Supervisor Foust by almost 17 points in the 10th District. The Dulles District supported all the bond referendum questions, including those for projects that were not in our area (which was not the case for some other districts). All the questions passed, which means we will be moving forward with the Academies of Loudoun, which will give our students a first class STEM and vocational education. For those of who you missed yesterdays election--the next one is just 364 days away!
