Thank you to everyone who attended our final race day for 2014. While down in boat numbers, the racing was exciting. While it was very humid, the weather managed to hold off to let us race and enjoys some Christmas cheer before the heavens opened with rain and thunderstorms. Thank you to Warren Goulding (Mouse), Tony Willis (Buddha) and Greg Hodges (Sycko) for entertaining the crowd. Unfortunately, Mouse succumbed to an engine problem in the first race. Greg “Hollywood” Hodges, has a couple of visits to the mangroves nears the M5 Motorway bridge, fortunately no damage to boat or engine as he gracefully came to rest and got himself out on both occasions. Buddha was flying and didnt seem to miss a beat. Thank you to Hayden and Blake Sherry for flying the flag for Formula Futures and racing their butts off as they had eight races. This was Hayden’s last outing in the Formula Futures before stepping up to the new Formula 4 class. Good luck Hayden and thank you for supporting Deepwater. Thank you also to our dedicated Committee for organising the day – both on and off the water: Max Sullivan, Craig Lynne, Greg Oxley, John Cohen, Brock Cohen, Damon Cohen, Larry Short, Glenn Burns, David Sullivan, William Sullivan, Matt Roach, Jamie McCutcheon, our diver and paramedic, Dennis Brew and Stacey Sullivan. Without these people we don’t race. A special thank you to Dave Gray (who was unable to attend) for supplying the Xmas Gifts for the kiddies on Santa’s behalf and to Meat Perfection at Revesby for the wonderful spit roast meats, cooked perfectly by our own MasterChef, Jamie McCutcheon. Thank you to everyone who has supported Deepwater in 2014 and we look forward to seeing you all in 2015. The first race meeting in 2015 is the big Australia Day double header weekend with the Australian Formula Future Championships on Saturday 24 January and our Annual Club Trophy Day on Sunday 25 January. It should be a great weekend, so mark it in your calendars now. On behalf of the Executive, Committee and Members of Deepwater Motor Boat Club, I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Christmas and a wonderful new year in 2015.
