Thank you to everyone who has asked me about Kidd. For those who dont know, we are having a heat wave in So Cal and it has been hideous since Friday. We do not have air conditioning as we are close enough to the beach that it usually just doesnt get really hot. Its been in the high 90s here every day. I came home from work yesterday around 2 and found Kidd unresponsive on my patio. The dogs can go outside and inside on their own, fans are going in the house. Patio is shaded and cooler, usually cool. He didnt even lift his head when I walked out, I immediately got his leash to get him in the car and he didnt even lift his head at getting his leash on. His normal reaction to my touching his leash is to jump in the air repeatedly and spin and leap about until I can get him to sit. I carried him to my car and took him to the vet, where they carried him in. :( His temp was 104.8 and he was obviously in pain. We got him cooled down and gave him pain meds, antibiotics, ran x-rays and blood work. X rays were inconclusive. I left him there overnight (air conditioned) and visited this morning. He didnt look much better. No appetite. Blood work came back with some things that could point to pancreatitis but not conclusive. More tests. Maybe a moving obstruction, maybe pancreatitis, maybe an ulcer. He will go back tomorrow for more tests, he is home with me tonight. A very quiet boy but still my snuggle boy. We will spend most of the night in my air conditioned bedroom. Thanks for all the positive notes and texts today. :)
