Thank you to the voters who have thus far signed my petition. Also, thank you to the ones who ask why should we vote for you? That is just the question I want to hear because I know once you know the answer you will be even more confident in the fact that I am the right person for this position. So, here goes .... Why Susie Gaston Lee? 1. My experience in the real estate profession and as a realtor. I worked for Jim Garren at Garren Realty for eight years. I understand the appraisal process, fair market value, cost, and income approach. I understand how to determine the value of a property whether that property be a residential, commercial/industrial, or agricultural parcel. 2. My experience in county government, I was a deputy register under Nadean Cunningham and had the pleasure of training Cheryl Ingram for my position when I left to work for the Board of Education. I know what it is to prepare a budget, analyze that budget, and adhere to it. I also know how to forecast expenditures when high priced items are needed, such as technology, and I know the purchasing requirements and processes of government. 3. My personality, yes I said my personality - I promise when elected, you will feel welcomed in my office and know that I will work diligently to assist you in any way. I have worked in the public arena since the age of 13 when I was a cashier at KC Robinsons Grocery Store in Etowah. I firmly believe in the importance of every individual no matter their economic status. I will treat EVERYONE equally and with the utmost respect. I am a professional and hold myself to the highest standards of professionalism and I will expect nothing less from the staff under my employee. I will consider it an honor and privilege to serve you as your Property Assessor. I am asking for your vote and support in the May 6 Republican Primary. I will be seeing you around!
