Thank you very much for the kind words Deirdre earlier. I just want to say a big thank you to all the Ulsanites who have supported the Ulsan Foreigner Market and turned a small idea into a great community success. Without the awesome vendors and the continued support of the local community we wouldn’t have had a market at all! If you don’t know the UFM, it was started last year to bring the foreign community together whether it be teachers, engineers or families. The UFM is really is a cultural exchange where we have had vendors from all over the world (even Peru and Mexico) selling their wares. Lots of us have talents that we want to share. Mine was cooking. I thought it would be a good idea to produce pies and other pastry goods like I do back in the UK. I also knew of other people who made products which you just can’t get anywhere in Korea. After a successful first market ages ago, we’ve just grown month by month. I know Busan and Daegu have similar events but they are not a patch on Ulsans :) I am very happy to say that Shannon will be continuing organising the market after I leave and if anyone is interested in becoming a vendor, please contact her. Events like this need regular support so please keep coming rain or shine! One person I cannot forget to thank is my great friend Sil and his bar Sticky Fingers. Without him this would not have been possible. Bars like Stickies, Cima and JJs do so much for the local community to bring us all together and make Ulsan’s foreign community what it is .Every now and again we need to remind them by buying those guys a drink and thanking them for all they do! So… all in all thank you Ulsan, it really has been a great two years and I hope someone will fill your pie needs soon! H
