Thankful Day 15 Today I am so thankful for experts in the fields of finance, retirement and social security benefits. Attending a seminar at Shoemaker Financial today with Rick was definitely beneficial. The speaker was from Hershey, PA. He has been sharing his knowledge of the social security system for 30 years. I heard information today that I had never heard before and that unless you know to ask when you sign up for social security, for yourself or a parent or other relative, they are not obligated to make you aware. I know my parents did not receive everything that they should have because we/they didnt know. It can ultimately add up to thousands of dollars in benefits over a lifetime. In todays economic environment, knowledge is more valuable than ever. Maybe I am more aware as I get older and since I have been blessed to be retired for over two years. I so wish I had the resources that I have had for the past 3 years at Shoemaker Financial when I was younger. But I am so blessed to have those resources now and to share it with others.
