Thankful With My Heart Read Psalm 9:1 The heart reveals the truth of a person. It reflects what we allow into our lives, our spirit, and our character. We can speak words of praise, glory, edification, and gratitude, but if the heart isn’t true to what we are saying it is just words spewed in vain. God knows the heart of each and every one of His creation. He has an unshielded, laid wide, and brightly lit view into the very depths and crevices of our heart and He knows if true thankfulness is found there. It is the thankful heart that is moved to a constant state of gratitude each and every day for the rich and overflowing blessings that He grants to our lives. It is the thankful heart that will look beyond the frustrations, disappointments, fears, and insecurities that are a part of being in this world, and recognize that God’s gift of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ, is greater than any desire that this world can inspire. It is the thankful heart that will bow in humbleness, yielding selfish desires to that which brings glory to God, the Father. It is the thankful heart that sees His love before seeing His denial. May we all be mindful…as God looks to me today, may He see a heart glowing with thankfulness for His love, sacrifice, patience, forgiveness, blessings, gifts, mercy, and grace. --Janet Watts, Kannapolis church of Christ
