Thankfully, Margots lumbar puncture earlier this week revealed that there was no leukaemia in her spinal fluid. This makes her symptoms easier to manage with the palliative care team and gives us more and hopefully better quality time together at home. Unfortunately, Margot has since had a rough 36 hours or so as her temperature has spiked multiple times. Its unpleasant for her and at times she has been really very unwell. Margot has spent much of today at Kingston Hospital where they have worked to bring her temperature down, such that she could then receive a red blood cell infusion. In spite of it all, Margot retains her sense of humour at all times ! She has up times and good moments - this video shows one of them. Back story: Some months ago, when Margots speech was less well developed than it is today, in a quiet moment I whispered to her I love you, to which she replied: apple juice. This has since become a bit of a family joke ! === Our family are so grateful to Margots selfless and benevolent bone marrow donor - click this link & scroll down to see our letter to him: teammargot/home/ You can save a life. Please consider joining the stem cell registry as a potential donor. The easiest way is a painless, five minute online registration following which you have roughly a 1 in 1,200 chance of doing something heroic: actually becoming a donor and having the opportunity to save someones life. The stem cell is the only organ to replenish itself. The benefits of donation far outweigh the actual or perceived inconvenience. If youre unable to register or if you have done so already, please encourage Just One More person to do the same, particularly if theyre of mixed race / genealogy. Margots mixed family background was one of the key reasons it wasnt possible for her to find a perfect match. There are 37,000 people worldwide who, right now, are in desperate need of a blood stem cell donor, including 1,800 people in the UK alone. Only 50% of people with a blood cancer ever find a suitable match. It neednt be that way. Please SHARE. Thank you. x teammargot youtu.be/3YzBGkxsvHc
