Thanks Elena Kristie for sharing! Totally agree: My October son will be 31 soon and I teach preschool. I did not send him to school at age 4 and always suggest waiting when parents ask me for my opinion. My concern is not whether or not they are ready for Kindergarten but rather will they be emotionally, mentally and socially ready for middle school and high school. Kindergarten teachers in my district have told me that they do not retain because of psychological issues it causes and highly advocate giving the late birth children an extra year.
