Thanks Everyone, I would just like to mention a few simple things about privacy and respect in relation to Bird Sales and Sales of Budgerigars at Auctions. I also understand it is a very public forum that we live in - information flow has never been greater than it is right at this moment in time. Over the last 2 weeks there have been some Quality Budgerigars sold at Auctions in NSW and Victoria - some for low amounts and some for high. The object of everyone - or it should be - is the promotion of the Budgerigar Breeding and Showing Hobby of which we are all part - if you are not then you shouldnt be a member of this site!! With this in mind lets respect the previous owners - and the new owners - privacy regarding what was achieved in Sales Price and what the new purchasers were happy to pay because of their dedication to the hobby or their vision for the future. By all means discuss the quality of the birds - that is why we are here. I was involved with a discussion on The Birdroom UK Facebook page with people making comments both positive and negative - the conversation petered out once the most important point was realised..... No one puts a gun to peoples heads with regards to them paying for a bird. The facts are that just purchasing the bird does not make the individuals a Budgerigar Fancier - its what they are able to do with the Management of the Birds, getting them into breeding condition and actually getting chicks on the perch that have the potential to win at shows or produce quality in the cabinet. This is the true pleasure of the hobby - lets focus on that!! Cheers, James Admin.
