Thanks Katherine Wagner for letting me share... History lesson... Last night at the ACT Meet and Greet event, you may remember Ms. Joan Roberts, the stunning Queen greeter of the event. She asked me about the video I created and directed in 2010, as Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, which was a documentary about the 100 year history of the Chamber and what it has meant for this region. I spent weeks going through documents, newspaper articles and getting advice from local historians (Thanks Val Patenaude at the museum). It had been a few years since I saw it and as I watched it this morning it really brought back memories and reminded me of the issues this town has faced in the past when it comes to development, jobs and economic development. You will know some names and faces but more importantly, listen to the issues from decades ago. Sound familiar? There was enough history to fill 2 hours but this is about 20 minutes and is the only video documentary of the history of Maple Ridge (That I know of). Feel free to share.
