This article is about a new prosthetic limb (study) that involves implants for wearers nervous system, and bone-connected arm mechanics that has led to amazing refinements in motor control (and sensory awareness). On Michaels timeline, earlier today, I made a joke about two actors from the Six Million Dollar Man tv show. And then I thought... thats even more amazing than I first thought. In March of 1973 some tv producers thought up the idea of having advanced prosthetics fully replace a human arms functionality, and now, in October 2014, just 41.5 years later, given decades of research and new technology, some really smart people have made part of that science fiction show... a reality. So Im not only wowed by the video clips of the results of this news, but Im also completely struck by how weve taken something from science fiction to fiction to reality in just 40 years. I know there are hundreds of examples of this all around us. I just wonder how often we appreciate the sheer brilliance and capacity for greatness that we all carry within us. What are we currently pretending is only science fiction, that well have built in 20-30 years? What are you currently dreaming about, that could be a reality in 5-10? Dream BIG. You may as well!
