Thanks, Millet Israeli, for inspiring me to jot down the list of the 10 books that have most inspired me. Ten is such a random number, and I feel I am unfair to the ones that have not “made it” to my final list. If I would have to choose any another day, the list may be different. I also think that, for the sake of fairness, the older one is, the more books should be “allowed” – to account for more years of reading and of being inspired, so I put 12... I am not formally “nominating” anybody – just inviting those interested to create and post their own lists. 1. The Bible 2. Victor Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning 3. Antoine de Saint-Exupery, The Little Prince 4. Herman Hesse, Siddhartha 5. Nikos Kazantzakis, Zorba the Greek 6. Ernest Hemingway, The Old Man and the Sea 7. Arthur Miller, Death of a Salesman 8. Gabriel Garcia Marquez, One Hundred Years of Solitude 9. Wallace Stegner, Crossing to Safety and Angle of Repose 10. Jalal al-Din Rumi, The Essential Rumi 11. Pablo Neruda, Love Poems 12. Yehuda Amichai, Love Poems and More Love Poems (bilingual edition)
