Thanks, Sonja Jones Funakura ... Approximately 14% of the US - TopicsExpress

Thanks, Sonja Jones Funakura ... Approximately 14% of the US population is on food stamps. The number of US population on welfare is about 4%. If a person makes $7.25 minimum wage, at $290 a week, $15,080 annually they may qualify for food stamps but not welfare. If they make less than $1,000 a month they can qualify for food stamps and welfare. This is where analysis comes into play...look at the two sites, welfare statistics and food stamp statistics. Note in 2000 we had 17 million on food stamps. In 2011 we had over 46 million. This isnt due to Obama or any president for that matter. This is due to Congress and the corporations not reacting to job losses and the fact the jobs we have lost in manufacturing paid better and left more educated people turning to lower wages. As this continues our tax revenue goes lower at the same time the need for gov help grows. The income inequality must be addressed. The longer we wait the worse its going to get. Stop blaming the POOR!!!!! Consider the brain statistics info of celebrity planes. You still think we should not tax the rich more and enforce our corporations to hire and pay better when their profits are growing, executives pay is growing? Whos going to pay for gov services in the future if we dont raise it? statisticbrain/welfare-statistics/ statisticbrain/food-stamp-statistics/
