Thanks, Susan Schroeder. For Day One of Two Things I am Grateful For Per Day: I am grateful for the breeders from whom I have learned and gotten salukis, more treasured than gold: Mimi Carlyle and Gail Goodman. They are/were more than mentors; they carry the memory of salukis past and present for many decades, and have taken the time to impart their wisdom in the hope that what they know and preserve from saluki generations past will continue. They provided insights that have become part of my permanent record of saluki history. The second thing I am grateful for today are two amazing artists I have learned from and continue to learn from as I continue to strive to pull out whatever artistic talent I have out of the embers of my frantic life doing other things: my sister Karen Joan Dietz, and Kathleen Coy. Their brilliant work and their willingness to share make them true teachers, just like Mimi Carlyle and Gail Goodman. I am in awe of these four very important people in my life. Therefore I am pleased to nominate Karen Joan Dietz and Kathleen Coy for this challenge. Gail, I will nominate you soon!
