Thanks are in order to everyone who helped in our response to the CEQA document regarding PGEs plans for our neighborhood. We were so effective that PUC surprised us by deciding to proceed with a full EIR process (our goal) without a formal hearing. This is great news, but now we all have to renew our energy for this fight. The first event is a PUC scoping meeting beginning the EIR process at Corralitos Grange on January 29. Our planning group will be putting up signs and trying to use all public media to inform people to get a big turnout. Probably the most compelling need in the near future will be financial contributions. We will meet with our lawyer, Bill Parkin, in the next few days to develop priorities for action. We will have a public meeting after the January 29 meeting, but well before the February 18 deadline for this phase of public comment. At that time, we will give a full accounting of the ( limited) contributions we have received so far, and how we have spent the money. We have been informed that legal representation will be critical to success in this phase of our effort. Please plan to come to both meetings ( place and time of our meeting TBD), and consider beforehand how much you can contribute.
