Thanks everyone for coming to the 5 Family Pot Luck-BBQ this afternoon at Crescendo Farms! New cover photo from this afternoon. This group started in the early 1950s when my mom came from Illinois to teach school at Gregory Heights Elementary School in Portland. Five teachers became good friends, all got married, had kids, now grand kids and some even great-grands! The original 5 teachers only taught together for 2 or 3 years at the most but their friendship has spanned over 60 years! We had Christmas Parties, Easter Egg Hunts, Summer Pool Parties and special celebrations with birthdays and weddings. It is a truly unique group - no one I have ever met has had anything like this in an extended family made up of friends. The original parents try to have brunch once a month and are hit and miss at times. The big group doesnt get together like this very often, but when we do we all seem to just pick up where we left off :-) Thanks again for coming, it was great seeing you all and having some time to re-connect!
