Thanks for a great Spa Party this past Saturday! In case you missed it, then here is a recap! Exfoliation can help your skin appear younger and brighter -- as long as you don’t overdo it. Problem: If you want to have good-looking skin, try getting rid of some of it. Normally, our skin sheds dead cells after they’ve reached the epidermis, but what doesn’t flake away can make your complexion look dull and rough, and even cause blemishes and feel itchy. Remedy: Exfoliating can rid the skin’s dull, outer layer as well as all of the flaws that reside there, like fine lines, dark spots, blemishes, and black heads by keeping pores clear of impurities. Plus it improves blood circulation, which will give your skin a healthy, more youthful glow. Exfoliation also helps your moisturizer and skin care treatments penetrate better. Why exfoliate the face? Even out skin texture, fight signs of aging, prevent blackheads, and minimize dark spots. The baking soda and apricot seeds polish the skin, leaving it with a softer, smoother texture. It’s like using sandpaper on coarse, unevenly textured wood—step-by-step it becomes smooth. After a blemish has healed, a red, brown or purple mark may remain. But each time you exfoliate, you’re removing the top layer of skin to diminish the appearance of discoloration. Follow up with our pumpkin face mask for even more dramatic results! Why exfoliate the lips? Skin cells don’t shed as often on our lips as they do on our face. Plus we don’t wash, exfoliate, and moisturize our lips daily like we do our faces. If you’ll exfoliate your lips with our edible brown sugar lip scrub 1-2 times a week, then you’ll be able to absorb the oil and lip balm, and kiss dry chapped lips good bye! Why exfoliate our bodies? Just like the face, our bodies get dry, dull, and itchy. The salt and oil body scrub is amazing to use 1-2 a week from head to toe, and is a real moisturizing treat for your skin. The faucet soap’s mesh bag is a great quick way to wash and exfoliate daily. We recommend you follow up with either the body lotion for a quick light moisturizer or the body oil for a more luxurious heavy moisturizer. Tips ❶ Only use exfoliation products designed for the face on your face. Products intended for the body are usually more abrasive. ❷ Always moisturize your face and body after exfoliating. ❸ Be gentle & don’t over do it. Over exfoliating runs the risk of red, irritated, dry, flaky, and more breakouts. ❹ Listen to your skin, and don’t over do it. Biting the skin on your lips=exfoliate, Rough dull skin=exfoliate, Itchy & flaky=exfoliate. Check in with your skin regularly to see if you need to adjust your exfoliation routine.
