Thanks for adding me to the group! I love circus history, and anything to do with the history of clowning as well. I believe it all started with this gentleman. For me, at least. Not entirely sure of his name, as I was only 8 years old when I met him. My mom and I, along with an old family friend, were on a road trip and most likely were in either Alabama or Georgia when we got a flat tire. After a while, this 18-wheeler pulls over in front of us and a regular trucker type guy hopped out. Not only did he help switch our flat tire with the spare, but he pointed us in the direction of the nearest Walmart to buy a new tire! He seemed awesome, I do remember that myself. Playful guy, fun to be around. He made me laugh, and I loved that. He handed my mom and I this picture, and our old friend another picture with his phone number on it. Between then and now, weve parted ways with our old friend as she took some bad choices and is on all the wrong paths, and refuses any help. But I still have this picture, and scanned it a few years ago to see if I could track this guy down. He signed the back of it. It looks like Hank someone ... McCulla maybe? McCollen? If anyone has any information on this guy, PLEASE let me know! Id love to meet him again, or at least know what happened to him. HUGE influence, and he most likely has NO clue.
