Thanks for all the Dax birthday love!!!! March and April are always emotional months for me. I imagine what I would say to myself if I could go back to the beginning... Six years ago we were just hoping for 24 hours. Thats all. We prayed for healthy. Completely healed. Better O2 sats. Better blood work. A child who was fixed. Im not sure which prayers were answered, which ones were denied, and which ones got lost in an episode of the telephone game between me and God... (God, heal his heart. What? Bad connection. He needs to fart? On it!) Whatever happened along the way, Im thankful for the beauty that grows in dark places. Im thankful for this hard-headed little jacked-up quirky boy, and for every headache and gray hair and laugh line hes given me. I thank God for Dax, for who he was and who he is and who he will be. Hes pretty perfect to me.
