Thanks for approving my request Psyclone Jack! Im Nicki (or Mama :D) and although Im not a cosplayer right now, I incorporate a lot of the same skills and techniques in my hobbies of LARP (mostly Lorien Trust) and burlesque (where the aforementioned Mama comes in ;p). Im desperate to get involved in the scene and although Im fairly comfortable taking my clothes off onstage, the biggest reason Ive not got involved so far is the scary amount of abuse/ridicule Ive seen when ladies of the larger persuasion cosplay their favourite characters. Still, Jack has been a tremendous support in encouraging me to get involved and now hes created this space for people to to be awesome to each other - itll be rude not to at least try! Costumes Ive used that I suppose could be considered cosplay have been Mama Morton from Chicago (as played by Queen Latifah!) who is my namesake and inspiration, (my full burly name is Mama Silverside!), Ursula from The Little Mermaid (with a MUCH better costume in mind soon, Jack and I have plans afoot!) and lately Ive been working on a Harley Quinn routine which Im UBER excited about :D In LARP, I play an awesome runaway noblewoman who became a pirate... I mean legitimate businessman. Ok, Ive yabbered on long enough - hi everyone! Its so nice to meet you!
