Thanks for everyones suggestions, I cant believe how well its taken off.. The WHCIAG started as an offshoot of the Community Group, but with the sole purpose of being pro active instead of just venting our disgust at the amount of litter and rubbish on the beach, pebble ridge, village Green and wider community.. The whole village is looking a lot tidier, but we still have to be vigilant and keep the momentum going.. My personal feelings on the Cart idea are that in principle it is a good one, the Happy Cafe could certainly do with the use of one.. Storage and manpower to use it are another matter.. It would need to be accessible to the main group of volunteers to use, which could cause problems with access to keys and storage space etc.. Thanks Sue McGuirk for your offer to unlock/ lock up for us if its kept in the Happy Cafe.. We will take you up on your offer if the Cart is forthcoming.. And for Speaking to Sue Roper from Tescos Bideford. Im sure we could use their help.. Rob the idea of you selling a painting is very generous and I am happy for you to sell one on the Group page no problem, if it helps to bring in funds for your shopping trolley idea. Which I also think is a good one.. I will ask Andrew at Future Plan Financial Services about the sponsoring of the a Cart, and also the possibility of some fluorescent sashes with volunteer litter picker printed on.. Or just WHCIAG whichever seems to be the best one.. Maybe we could have some opinions on it.. The Hoops are also a brilliant idea, and thanks to Rob and Mandy for sourcing them for us, they make life so much easier and using them its possible to get a lot more rubbish in each refuge sack.. Thanks again to Ben & Cam at The Nisa Store, Nelson Road for providing all the refuge sacks for Sundays Litter pick/beach clean. It is much appreciated. We need some ideas as to how we can promote our Group and the activity we carry out in the community as we need to reach a greater proportion of the community than just those who use Facebook. .. If anyone knows of any businesss that would be willing to carry an info board about our group, could they please make it known on here.. Maybe we could put an info board up in the local church halls, if anyone has any contacts within the Churches. Jess Marchbank.. Looking forward to hearing what Tesco Westward Ho! Store can do to help.. Good work Rob for contacting him.. Ps.. Im not really the person in charge of this group, I just set it up out of frustration at the amount of litter in our community and at the amount of moaning and non action with regards it on Facebook and in the general community.. Its everyones group, and everyone has an equal say in how we go forward, ideas for fundraising for equipment, promoting the group, organising litter picks, bringing to the attention of others problem areas etc.. We are a Group of individuals that care about our community and we should all have a pat on the back for what we have achieved so far in a relatively short time..
