Thanks for the kind words VOD: Retelly is an online video magazine that targets a young, hip, fashion and culture obsessed crowd with content covering a variety of genres; art, food, music, style and technology amongst others. The website is beautiful to behold with big, bold poster icons advertising the clips, and the content featured is perfect for when youve had your daily fix of cats in funny costumes and fancy something a little bit more sophisticated. The videos available seem to come from a variety of sources, including Vimeo and YouTube, and a major USP of retelly is the fact that content on the site has been rigorously curated by a team of worldwide editors. At the time of writing I was unable to set up a personal account, though a message promises me that early bird accounts will be released soon alongside a dashboard, personalisation functionality and the ability to suggest videos. Boasting 5 million unique visitors since launch, Im excited to see where the guys behind retelly take their product. Sure, it isnt going to be for everyone (would you consider yourself an urban sophisticate or cultural trendsetter?) but for when you have a spare hour during your lunch break and are tired of browsing YouTube for that perfect laughing baby video, its a great alternative.
