Thanks goes out to two Shorthills Wildlife Alliance members for braving the frigid temperatures this week, and continuing to patrol the park for evidence of poaching. Shorthills members have discovered numerous hunt blinds, tree stands and deer remains within the park over these past weeks. This week, they were finally successful in convincing superintendent - Mark Custers to join them for a hike through the park to show him the blinds, and the evidence of crimes being committed against the park, and the wildlife. With the assistance of Shorthills members, Super Mark Custers destroyed numerous hunt sites. There are still more to be dismantled. Lets hope now that Ont. Parks employees have actually been IN the park, that they will WAKE UP, Stop wasting time and money on organized hunts and start seriously patrolling and safeguarding our park. This was at least a small step forward. Dont be fooled, the MNR and Ontario Parks are NOT interested in protecting the wildlife, they are interested in protecting their jobs which is why after numerous complaints they have finally responded to us. If you see any infractions within the park please contact Mark Custers Super - [email protected]
