Thanks so much everyone for your support and sharing - BLOG has had 1036 hits in under 24 hours and also pinging around Twitter and Facebook still too. Thanks Gail Hanrahan for doing this for my boy and our family. An update - the Assessment and Treatment Unit from Northumberland have been to see him and AGREE THAT THERE IS LITTLE VALUE IN YET ANOTHER ASSESSMENT (remember he has a recent full psychiatric assessment, complete and detailed care plans, OT, SALT reports etc) and have recommended that Oxfordshire set up a bespoke community support solution! Oxfordshire are waiting for feedback from another ATU, but Im jumping up and down for people to get on with this Person Centred Plan ASAP. Thats the main issue - to get support in place for when he needs it (NOW!) although there are plenty of other issues (see last bit of Gails blog). Desperately hoping Oxfordshire can support him while this is all happening. He has had a good week or so at the Highfield Adolescent Unit. We are able to see him every day and are currently taking him an evening meal in every night to fatten him up a bit. (He has lost 2 stone since he was admitted to the ATU last year.) I have added comments to the BLOG informing of this update too. Thanks again every one for all the support and please keep sharing to put pressure on Oxfordshire to address his needs without delay.
