Thanks to Renee Pedretti and her team at Juravon Park for running a great comp over the last two days. We took the truck loaded with Leandro , Silverdene Captain Oats, The Great Gatsby , AEA Lorenzo , Yarraensis Oozone and Hollands Bend Weltich .. First on was Ant on Wendy Jefferys Oozone in the elementary . This mare is really beautiful to watch, a strong personality and power to burn. She took out a win and third place in the elementary to finish champion elementary horse. Claire Moulds rode her own Silverdene Captain Oats also in the elementary Prince is really looking good. Claire has been working hard on producing a supple and engaged frame . Finishing 9 th and 10 th in a very strong field . Kaz Morphett had her FEI debut on the beautiful Leandro in the PSG and had a great time doing it ! It is the beginning of a wonderful partnership and career. And were very pleased to be part of the journey. Well done Kaz ! Katrina Bolmat rode the sensationally gorgeous giant Hollands Bend Weltich for third place on the PSG . Hes just such an awesome power unit this horse and Katrina does a fantastic job to keep him beautifully light on her aids and he seems to smile the whole way through. Matt was out again in the prelim on Amanda Connors , The Great Gatsby. This gentle kind horse is proving a solid competition mount and just out of the placings ... Hes been out each weekend for this month and think hes a little tired! . Time for some cross training in the lead up To the dressage festival. Last to go was AEA Lorenzo in his large tour debut ! We were really pleased with this start and although a few mistakes in the changes and lack of lift in the passage he walked out a happy horse. Plenty to improve on and work with for a 58.46% Competitions can be daunting and scary for riders and horses .... Whether youre entering your first ever prelim or your first ever large tour test. Or a seasoned professional for that matter ! Its really important ( and makes for much more fun!) to have the support of good friends and and encouraging people. Thanks to all the VDS clients and friends who are making these outings enjoyable , relaxed and positive for us and the horses. Next comp .... Westernport dressage club at Werribee ! See you there !
