Thanks to all who came out to hang and party with us at the Boardwalk. First kudos to Carlton Rosebure and Lollipop productions for providing such an exceptional sound system. It sounded absolutely unbelievable (great detail of sound). I have been using Carlton for years and he has NEVER let me down! Always on time and professional. Mad love to MR. V (Victor Font), Miss Patty, and Michelle Rivera for blessing Coney Island with their talent. The Ladies rocked and me say that we have always had great respect for V and was he has accomplished in our scene. The Real will always support him and Sole Channel for quality music and production that comes from it. DJ Erv and I leave the 2014 season on the Coney Boardwalk quite content with what we tried to bring quality wise and although there is always room for improvement we now what we bring is dope nonetheless. We have so much in store for everyone starting with the Osunlade~Yoruba Records Boatride on September 20th. Finally and on a different note. Many of you know that I am West Indian descent (Grenada). Although I was born in Brooklyn my roots and parentage hail from the islands. My style of playing and musical roots comes from a time where it wasnt about genre but more on if it was music that stirred your soul. Part of that is my love of Calypso and Reggae. I have found it interesting that other ethnic ground get their music celebrated in our scene but that West Indian music gets NO LOVE. So yesterday, for LABOR DAY WEEKEND, I made it my business to play and incorporate it in the mix the way is could be. Sorry to some if they may have found it to be a imposition (It went over weill), I think. But I just wanted to show my fellow WI massive some love. ONE LOVE and party safe for the rest of the weekend!
