Thanks to everyone who reviewed QED: A Place to Show & Tell menu items. I definitely learned a few things. In addition to these catered items, Im considering a hot dog / sausage roller thingy because they have a small footprint & overhead and, well, theyre yummy & easy. The young producer in me --the one who at 11 years old wrote, directed and produced a paper mache puppet show*, drafted invitations, promoted the show and sold concessions-- really wants a popcorn machine. However, they take up more space, are a little pricier and create some mess. (Edited to clarify: Im not worried about cleaning the machine. Popcorn is a messy food with spills and such.) *I made one puppet as required in art class taught by Ms. Scott at Montgomery Middle School. I chose to make Charlie Brown from the Peanuts. On my own at home, I made Lucy & Snoopy puppets, wrote a script, built a puppet theater and performed it for my mom, brother and the neighbor kids who could afford the $0.25 admission fee. I cooked popcorn in a frying pan and sold it for $0.10 a serving and made a batch of cherry Kool-Aid which I served for $0.05 a glass. The show was good, too. So good that word got around and my 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Frasier (she changed names three times during the time I knew her, so I could have this wrong) invited me to perform the show for her class. It went over okay, not as good as Id hoped, but I was honored to have been asked. Just stuff Im thinking about. It feels like my whole life has led to this new venture, and I want to serve some popcorn and Kool-Aid. Beer and brats will work, too.
