Thanks to my friend John Daly I have been kept abreast of the #indyref for the last 6 months or so and as an Englishman watching from down South I have a few observations: 6 months ago Alex Salmond wanted an open debate with our Dave, on the referendum, the constitution, currency, EU, the whole bag o mashins as they say in Lincolnshire. At that time the No campaign had around a 20 point lead in the polls. Presumably Dave and Nick thought the Jocks will all shout at each other for 6 months as they do anyway, have their little vote and it would all die down in the provinces again and they could go back to their pressing matter of flipping houses! Now a week to go and however you cut it the polls are neck and neck and the 3 wise monkeys Dave Nick and Ed, the finest the English public school system can produce are heading North to tell the people at the Easterhouse foodback, Dont worry for we 3 are English posh boys, stay with us and you can have control of your bus fares. Now I can only guess here but im summising the response Aye f*kking right! I kind of feels like we are sending theTiller Girls up Sword Beach for all the effectiveness it will have. Dont get me wrong, I am concerned as a citizen of The United Kingdom according to my passport, next Thursday the constitution of my country will change and I have had no say in the decision. If the people of Scotland decide to go independant, good on them but it will be down to Westminsters neglect of this monumental change. But wasnt that the point in the first place?
