Thanks to our friend Building in the Past for sharing this great image of Wollenzien Service in Afton, Wyoming, showing its central location in relation to a number of communities in Wyoming, Idaho, and Utah. The service station was opened in 1933 by John Wollenzien, who had previously worked at the local creamery and as the operator of the power plant at Afton. Mr. Wollenzien ran the service station until he retired in 1941. He died in 1961 at age 94 and is buried in the Afton Cemetery. (findagrave/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=86192752)
