Thanks to the help of many friends this week a new fan has been fitted to Bardwell Windmill this week. A nasty squall blew through last Friday night and the old fan sustained some damage. Over the last few months a new fan has been constructed and the components all came together this week. Thanks to the kind help from Brian Carberry and his family the old shaft was soon lifted down on Sunday morning and their giant truck mounted crane returned this afternoon to lift up the completed fan... Now winding again, the mill will be open this sunday 17th August for our annual Steam Threshing Day.
