Thanks to the overwhelming support of two of the entrants, the “What’s Not to Like” Arts Grant program has ended in a virtual tie between the Belmont and Gilford school districts! With the program ending in a tie, instead of awarding just one $3,000 grant, each school will be the recipient of a $3000 donation for the projects that they outlined in their proposals. By supporting arts education, we hope to help our local schools foster young imaginations, address academic standards, and promote the critical thinking and creativity skills essential to a 21st-century work force. Thank you to the staff of all of our local schools who work to meet these goals with the youth of our communities. We also wish to thank the over 11,000 community members who supported arts education with their votes. As outlined in the rules, the winners of the Ticketmaster gift card promotion will be announced by January 13th.
