Thanks to those who have contacted me with concerns of the propane - TopicsExpress

Thanks to those who have contacted me with concerns of the propane shortage. Heres an update from the governors office. Many thanks to Rep. Nick Milroy for meeting with the governor and suggesting some of these actions to take! Supplies of propane across the Midwest are tight because of a wet fall that impacted corn drying, a pipeline shutdown, and a very cold winter. With forecasts calling for continued cold weather, propane supplies will remain a challenge. Thus far, Governor Walker has issued executive orders that allow for truckers that deliver propane to Wisconsin to drive longer hours. The Department of Transportation has authorized a weight limit relief order for vehicles transporting energy in the state to increase the amount of propane carried in a single trip. Wisconsin is also working with surrounding states and the law makers in Washington. Working together, we now have a federal declaration of emergency from the U.S. Department of Transportation so that propane and fuel transporters can help meet the demand across the Midwest. Even states as far away as Texas are helping us get propane to the Midwest. In addition, the Division of Energy Services has temporarily expanded the role of its low-income energy assistance call center to provide information on conservation, warming centers, propane dealers, actions to take if you must leave your home, etc. Households may call 1-866-HEATWIS (432-8947) for more information. It will be staffed in normal operational mode from 7am-9pm weekdays.
