Thanksgiving reflections - what a rollercoaster ride this year has been. Finally becoming Legal Guardians for my nephew Mark, who has lived with me since he was an infant. Taking a step back from my photography fairly early in the year and reassessing the direction I was going. Closing the studio at Bucketworks when they lost the lease on the building; opening Studio 907 in South Milwaukee. Taking Perceptions Edge Photography in a whole new direction. Helping to Moderate POSE and watching the group double in size this year. Battling massive kidney stones in both kidneys, requiring 5 surgeries in 6 weeks. Finding out in the middle of my surgeries that my Father-In-Law is terminal with brain and lung cancer. Watching some people that I thought were tried and true friends turn their backs and walk out of my life. Embracing new friends that share my drive, passion and determination to succeed. Watching existing friendships grow and thrive. And yet, rollercoaster or not, there is really no one in the world I would trade places with. I am a blessed and fortunate man, with firm friends and loving family. A growing business to call my own. My own health issues are taken care of and while the situation with my father-In-Law is difficult to deal with I am grateful he is still with us today and Ive had the honor and pleasure to know him as long as I have. Mark is a challenge, as all teenage boys are, but in the end hes a good kid and brings untold amounts of joy to my life. To my Facebook friends and supporters I thank you all and wish you all the best of days. Seek out the blessings in your life instead of focusing on the negatives. And as always - dream big and live your dreams.
