That aint apple pie! If you want something to turn out right; you take pride in doing it, take your time and follow the instructions that you have. As with any good food, we like to try it a little different, change it up a bit, but the underlying result is still the same. I can make an apple pie, using green apples or red apples, thin crust, I can lattice the top, add a lot of filling or little, can top it with sugar or leave it plain...Ill still have an apple pie. The end result is based on what you put in! Apple pie has long been an idiom to describe something as being American. Americans come in all shapes, colors, backgrounds and diversities. Our fundamental beliefs are our freedoms and inclination to choose how we live. Little by little we seem to give these rights up for the sake of not offending someone, some alien ideal, or fear of losing security. Weve become accustomed to the generic ready made brand that is dished out to us, and allow others to tell us what ingredients to put into our pie. Keep the tradition alive, make an excellent apple pie or well be subjected to eating whatever is put into the tasteless yet appealing looking mass produced stuff shoved in our faces.
