That overturned 18-wheeler on S.Main near the South Loop just now ... well I was going the opposite direction when I saw a large object ahead go full tilt. The all metal container had flipped onto its side as it struck the concrete retaining wall with tremendous force and a loud bang. I saw the driver through his windshield with his arms flailing helplessly. At that moment I thought the container and truck was going to jump over the concrete barrier as I was passing, putting me in the direct path of this uncontrollable carnage. I swerved in anticipation and all traffic going both directions screeched to a standstill. When people describe their lives flashing before their eyes, it is no joke. In those few moments I saw my kids growing up, I thought about my parents, my cousins, I thought about the bad life I have been living, and somehow through all of that I started to really miss my second wife. Our time is borrowed. Invest it wisely.
