¤ That time of the season ¤ Let me start by saying this; I would not have been better off without Gods grace by my side. I would have been a rogue but for His divine mercies. I have made too many mistakes in life, but then, i never regretted any. They moulded who i have become today. I have seen 11 months of the year, deviod of casualties. Whew! Im as surprise as you are. The theme of the season re echoes warmly in my heart singing: Angels from the Realms of glory Angels we have heard on high. Away in a manger Carol of the bells Deck the halls Gabriels message Go tell it on the mountain Go tell it on the sea God rest you Gentlemen, Merry! For the that time of the season is here! Happy new month and Merry Christmas in advance. I want nothing special for this Christmas, except the merriment of my bank account. So, if God touches you to make it smile, please harden not your heart, it could be a revelation. But Christmas is still farther from this distance. Lest we live in the future nor dwell in the past, Lets talk about now and lose not its present. I got a clarion call from my sister weeks before now, our conversation thus read this: Oga Barri Madam i replied. How you dey? she asked Ayam fine oo, Just hunger won finish me. I pray you meet me in peace and in one piece before I return I concluded. Laughing like a male monkey who had seen a female counterpart to mate with, she said; Well, sorry shaa, bible says you shall not live by bread alone You go tell me when you done turn pastor I retorted She smiled and continue; That na discussion for another day. I wanted to tell you to remember that 6th of December is my birthday. Since you are already complaining of hunger, No need to throw up stones, because you will not receive it with your head. I know you are a broken bottle (her unique way of telling me that Im cash-strapped). So i will not ask you to take me to shop rite, neither will i ask you to get me a present of any form. My wish is as simple as this but hard as that; Just write me something nice and nothing more. I couldnt help the laughter after her statement. I took a heavy breath, sigh as hard as i could, pondered at this novel request she made and replied; OK ma, pray I get inspiration before then to write. But the truth is that, with a sister as mine, the stream of which inspiration flows runs deep. I could write a much voluminous wish without exhausting half of what I had hoped to say. If this is the only thing she could ask for, I would do it a thousand times. Though it may come at a time when the sole source of my inspiration has been the reason for my literary ecstasy being in abeyance, I will manage to grind you some chaff and promise the content in due time. Please forgive me if this is not exactly what you hoped for. I will just keep it concise and heartwarming. .....The rising Sun..... On a solitary bed I woke this morning, With the realisation of the fact that the sun shone so warming. I asked; Dear rosy sun, why art thy rays lit so mildly? It said; A princess has been born today, hence i illumine gently. With a quizzical stare i questioned still; who is this princess that even the birds sing her praises? It said; she art a Victorian melody, sung in the hymn of nature. Wear some stupid hat and hold few plastic plates. The fact she was about to make her way round me (the sun), singing with a whole clan gathered round with gifts in laughter and bound makes her a force of nature. So gather round with the kins men, siblings, parents and the comets; Let out a joyful sound and sing that stupid song: Happy Birthday to you x3 How old are you now x3 Indeed I was caught in grips of the suns wonderful tone. I was lost in the lines of this familiar lyrics. Maybe because I lost my voice to have it back. Maybe i left it hanging. But Dear sun, send for me my prayers to her. Tell her that; though she was far, but she is always near. Tell her that; Though she is a year older, and havent achieved much, Never to tarry, life is still young and not over yet. Tell her that; Though life isnt fair, Let her drink to booming health, and always remind herself of finding fame and wealth as each year increases. Tell her that; Though she is old, but she is yet old. That a wise one is one whose virtue is in tandem to Gods will. Dear Sun, tell her to get in the mood. Look very happy. I do not mean for her to create a scene. Blow some candles and cut some cake if there is any. Keep smiling and dance, knowing that this day only comes once in a year! Farewell, Ye that illuminate brightly. Indeed Shakespeare was right when he said; When beggars are born, there are no comets seen. Heavens themselves blaze forth the birth of a princess. Paraphrase. Happy birthday Madam. Wish you the best. You can still earn yourself a treat to shop rite or a gift from me if you could answer this question.
