Thats true giving? Man I was so selfish Man my prayers were full of Chocolate cake (metaphor for selfish) always what I wanted. focused on my self until I realized how much Jesus gave up for me. He left (real riches) to become poor (2 Cor. 8:9) So that statement shows that our aspirations in the cares of this world are ill placed, especially when he said when he comes to get us that is our inheritance. Yet I prayed for these materialistic mansions, fancy cars and clothes all the time. This does not mean what we want is not important, but that he is our father and we will (thru obedience/faith) have everything we are supposed to. I was always told, you dont have because you dont ask, and the Lord will give you the desires of your heart. That is biblical, but also spiritually misplaced and interpreted. He will give those with a heart as his own the desires of their heart. And our desire should be as it was with Jesus.. and thats loving your brethren (not just family) as much as yourself. Thats praying for them to have things as much as yourself. Thats doing for them sometimes when you want to do for yourself. We are his children.. and as a parent I really love blessing my kids when they love and do for each other without parental intervention... wouldnt you?? well so does God.. because he is the greatest father to walk this earth.. and watch over our soul from heaven. You hear it all the time.. give to God give to God! well he dont take cash, he dont take plastic either. HE wants love, he wants faith, perseverance, humbleness, caring, trust, and action. He wants us to do for others the way we do for ourselves.. thats how we do for him. 1 John 4:7-8 ESV Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
